Is driving experience required?

Previous scooter/Vespa/motorcycle driving experience is required and mandatory: A driving test is conducted by the team before the tour to verify the real ability to drive and being confident on a Vespa. Any participant unable to drive scooters safely may ride double with a partner.

What documents are required?

Documents requested to bring on the day : 1. Driving license ( no copy, only original ) 2. Credit Card ( no pre paid, no poste pay, no debit, no amex ) for EUR 500.00 deposit per vespa. ​

What are the Vespa age and size limits?

Accepted Answer

You must be at least 18 years of age
The maximum weight on the 50cc is recommended at 160 kg total 
Maximum speed of the vehicle is 48km/h on flat roads / 15km/h on hills 
The height of the saddle from the ground is 81cm. 
Not recommended for people smaller than 1,60m 
The vehicle weighs 88kg 
Vespas Primavera 50cc or Zip provided for the tour​

How long is the full tour experience?

The tour is actually 2h. We require 1- 1h30 approx depending on the group size, for the pre check in tour procedures which include the test drive, the vehicle damage check,  the contract signing and 30m approx when returning from the tour for a total of 4h.

What happens in bad weather?

In case of light rain the tour and itinerary will continue regularly. We recommend bringing a raincoat and a set of spare clothes. In case it starts to rain heavily halfway through the tour preventing the continuation of the tour safely, the rest of the tour will be done by minivan. In case of heavy rain the company will offer the same tour and itinerary by minivan.

What happens if I cannot drive safely?

Your safety is our top priority. Before the tour begins, every driver must complete a short test ride to ensure they can safely operate the Vespa.
If you do not feel confident or our tour leader determines that it is not safe for you to drive, you will not be permitted to ride the Vespa as a driver.
Instead, you may:
Ride as a passenger with your travel companion (if you have booked a shared Vespa), or
Ride as a passenger behind our tour leader, subject to availability.
If you choose to drive and successfully pass the test ride, please note that the Vespa is covered by third-party liability insurance only. This means that any damage to the Vespa caused during the tour is the driver's responsibility, as are any personal medical expenses resulting from an accident. 
The tour leader's decision regarding a participant's ability to safely operate the Vespa is final and is made solely to ensure the safety of everyone on the tour.

Is there a recommended dress code ?

We recommend:

Comfortable, breathable clothes – e.g., jeans, leggings, or casual trousers. Avoid short skirts or very loose clothing. 
Light jacket or Rain coat– even in summer, it can get windy when riding. In case of a bad weather make sure to bring a rain jacket.
Closed-toe shoes are mandatory. Sneakers or flat shoes with good grip are best. No sandals, flip-flops, or heels.

What type of roads does the Vespa tour use?

Our vespa tour takes place on public roads through the beautiful Tuscan countryside. The route combines secondary regional roads, quiet country roads, and scenic roads surrounded by vineyards and olive groves.
To reach the countryside from our headquarters, there is a short section at the beginning and end of the tour on roads with normal local traffic. Once outside the town, the ride continues mainly through the rolling hills of Chianti and the San Gimignano area, where traffic is generally light.

Please note that this tour is conducted entirely on regular paved public roads. Although Tuscany is famous for its white gravel roads (strade bianche), these surfaces are uneven, loose, and can be challenging even for experienced riders. For this reason, our Vespa tours follow scenic, paved secondary roads that wind through the vineyards and hills of Chianti, providing both breathtaking views and a safer riding experience.
